Time is more valuable than anything.
See below what I spend it on.

“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” -Harvey MacKay
Creative Director of Troop design

On the 6th of October in 2016, I started my own Creative Digital Agency: Troop Design. Together with Jesse van Thijn, we create empathic and user centred websites. Our goal is to become one of the top digital design agencies in the Netherlands.

Consulting & advising

I enjoy helping others a lot. It does not matter to me if it is work or personal related. First I did it just for close people around me but after that, people who I did not know personally came to me for my advise for their situations. I feel honored and I do not mind to spend time at helping others.

Loving life

Listening to either Drake or Kanye, staying hydrated, reading books, going to the cinema, hitting the gym and spending time with my friends and family gives me a lot of energy. It it extremely important to spend time with your loved-ones because you never know when the last time will be.

Active Collective - Interaction designer Trainee

Februari 2017 – April 2017

It did not matter much or my future would look very different if I had not done an internship at Active Collective. That is why I will always be grateful to Active Collective for giving me the opportunity as an Interaction designer trainee. This is mainly because I have learned so much, how the professional design world works.

I was hoping not only to develop as a designer or entrepreneur but also as a human being. I can proudly say that this has succeeded after my internship. This is mainly due to the different insights on the design world by the employees, Ruben Baas and Raymond Martens.

Not only have I greatly improved myself as an Interaction designer, I've also become a lot better in Visual design because I have learned many new ways to work with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Sketch. As a trainee, I was mainly concerned with:

- Designing and determining wireframes
- Designing user strategies; Considering how the user uses the website / app
- Design research; Research into design patterns and find out how these could be reused
- Photoshop activities; Cut, create posters and edit photos
- Conducting graphical reference frameworks
- Visualization of internal architectures such as networks and release management

XMLhosting - IT admin/developer

November 2014 – Januari 2015

Working at XMLhosting was real IT experience. I learned the basis of setting up basis computer systems. During my internship I was the person who had control over the IT hardware department. It was also my job to monitor all the computers and check if they were up to date. If they were not up to date with the latest software, it was my job to fix that.

NeshMedia - IT admin/developer

April 2014 – November 2014

I started as a beginner webdeveloper at Neshmedia. During my period I learned so much about developing websites and how the IT world worked back then. Now (2018) I look back at that period and most of ways I learned to create and develop websites are not relevant anymore. But no heart feelings because I still learned a lot. I also learned a lot about the business side of IT. It inspired me to think about my own company. And here we are.

CMD AMSTERDAM

September 2015 – present

Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) is part of the Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences).

CMD is a human-centred and context-sensitive bachelor-level design education in the field of interactive digital products and services

The aim of the education is to help their students with design and realize digital interactive solutions to real-world problems, optimized to the needs of users and other stakeholders. They also focus on interaction design, visual design and technique (particularly front-end development). However, these activities occur in a context that shapes what is possible, acceptable and optimal.

Application Developer

September 2012 – July 2015

As an application developer you learn the development (parts of) programs and websites. You learn to ensure that everything works safely. It is not just about making new things. You also ensure that existing software continues to work.
It is important to listen carefully to the wishes and ideas of your colleagues and customers. You will also learn the following points: taking into account security risks (viruses, hackers), drafting a plan of approach, setting up a development environment and drafting an implementation plan.
